Freddy Hogg is the
Pastor of Pinehurst Baptist Church in Pinehurst GA.
He and his wife Lynn formed the Cedar Creek
Bluegrass Band in the late 1970's. Members were
Freddy Hogg guitar, Buck Owens banjo, Jackie
Waller fiddle,
BuckyFergesonDobro, and Lynn Hogg
playing the upright bass. Cedar Creek played
festivals in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama until the
mid 1980's. The band dissolved due to marriages,
children, and various other concerns. Freddy was the
lead guitarist and lead singer for Cedar Creek.
Freddy also plays banjo and mandolin. Cedar Creek
placed 3rd in the band contest at the
Elijay Bluegrass
festival in 1981. Freddy placed 2nd in the
flat-picking’
contest at the same festival. After playing mostly
at church functions for the last 15 years, Freddy
was excited to get the opportunity to play with the
Gooseneck String
Band where he is the lead singer and mandolin
player. Freddy has played bluegrass music for over
30 years. Cedar Creek Band cut an album in 1982
called "The Creek Has Arrived" on Back Porch
Records, Freddy is happy playing Bluegrass and
Gospel Music again.
