Gabe developed a love for bluegrass and gospel music
early in life with his dad (Larry Gattis). They
listened to favorite cd’s together (Seldom Scene,
Del McCoury, Flatt and Scruggs) and went to
festivals together. Gabe began playing guitar at
age ten and began lessons weekly. He progressed
rapidly and by eleven was playing for church
functions at First Baptist where he attends.
Influenced by artists such as Tony Rice and Norman
Blake, Gabe developed his own unique style of
flatpicking. He has a 1953 Martin D-28 with which
he amazes audiences wherever he plays. Gabe is now
fourteen and attends Westfield
Schools in Perry Ga. Gabe’s other interests include
hot rod cars, running, and staying up all hours of
the night playing video games with friends. You can
